En el mes de julio en Louisville, Kentucky (USA) se van a realizar dos CAMPAMENTOS DE AJEDREZ, lo cual muestra de que esta ciudad tiene vida ajedrecistica.
Ambos CAMPAMENTOS son organizados por el proyecto CHESS TEACHING AND PERFOMANCE EVALUATION, dirigido por Ryan Velez y John Simons, a quienes conoci recientemente y platicamos acerca de este proyecto...
Aqui les dejo referencias de ambos promotores de ajedrez y una breve informacion de ambos CAMPAMENTOS (todo en idioma ingles).
Ryan Velez & John Simons -- Louisville, KY Ryan Velez has a BA in Psychology from Bellarmine University & a Masters in Business Psychology & Business Efficiency. John Simons is currently attending Indiana University Southeast for a degree in Informatics.
Velez (Left) & Simons (Right) have a combined 26 years of chess teaching experience, have taught in over 850 private lessons, and competed in 300 chess tournaments. Both Velez & Simons hold several state and national titles. Both have worked with children as young as 3 up through senior citizens. Velez achieved 2nd place in the KY State Championship in 2005, 2009 & 2010. Velez is close to receiving the title "Chess Master."
